Amy finished high school early in Montgomery County, Maryland as an all-state and all-district volleyball setter before attending the University of North Texas. She holds a Bachelors degree in communications and played Division I volleyball for the Eagles. After moving back to Northern Virginia, Amy obtained her Masters in education from George Mason University in 2004 and continues to serve there as an adjunct professor in the business school.
Amy has lived in Sterling since 2008, where she runs a management consulting business serving associations, nonprofits, and federal and state government agencies in the areas of human capital and change management.
Amy has served in the Sterling community as a Loudoun Youth Volleyball and travel club coach as well as a USA Volleyball referee.
She is a proud parent of 4 public school graduates, who were AP and IB students, and two went on to play collegiate soccer and lacrosse. Amy is also devoted to her two energetic doodles, Gunnar and Ella who love car rides, the dog park, and digging around in her vegetable and flower gardens!
